Skateboarding is an action sport that originated in the United States and consists of riding and doing tricks on a skateboard. It is also a leisure activity, an art form, entertainment industry employment, and a mode of transportation. Many skateboarders have developed and inspired skateboarding throughout the years. According to a 2009 assessment, the skateboarding industry is worth an estimated $4.8 billion in yearly sales, with 11.08 million active skateboarders worldwide. Skateboarding will be included in both male and female teams at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which was revealed in 2016.

Skateparks have been built expressly for skateboarders, Freestyle BMXers, aggressive skaters, and, more recently, scooters since the 1970s. Skateboarding, on the other hand, has been contentious in locations where the sport, although prohibited, has destroyed curbs, stoneworks, stairs, benches, plazas, and parks.

Wakeboarding

Wakeboarding first appeared in the 1980s. It was formerly known as Skurfing. Australia and New Zealand were the birthplaces of the sport. To begin with, they utilized binding-free, hand-shaped boards for towing.

All extreme sports need a great level of preparation, physical and mental strength, and stamina. One of these sports is wakeboarding. In this sport, the player rides over the surface of the water on a flat and long wakeboard pulled behind a speedboat traveling at a speed of 30 to 40 km/hr.

The original wakeboard was named Skurfer, and it resembled a surfboard with a pointed nose and rounded pin surfboard fins. Howard Jacobs invented multiple wakeboards in 1983 by attaching wind-surfing foot straps and partial hydro slide-pads to smaller surfboards. He was the first to shape such a surfboard with extra complexity.

Mountain/Rock Climbing

Rock climbing has been divided into several different styles and sub-disciplines due to the wide range and variety of rock formations around the world, such as scrambling, bouldering, sport climbing, and trad (traditional) climbing another activity involving the scaling of hills and similar formations, distinguished by the rock climber's sustained use of hands to support their body weight as well as to provide balance.

Climbing is a sport in which athletes climb up or over natural or man-made rock formations or rock walls. The objective is to reach the top of a formation or the terminus of a typically pre-defined path without falling. Rock climbing is a physically and intellectually difficult activity that often puts a climber's strength, endurance, agility, and balance to the test, as well as mental control. The usage of specialized climbing equipment and knowledge of suitable climbing methods are essential for the safe completion of climbs.

The goal of rock climbing contests is to either complete the route in the fewest number of tries or to reach the furthest point on an increasingly harder route. Indoor rock climbing is often divided into three disciplines. Bouldering, lead climbing, and top roping is three of these disciplines.

Paintball is a competitive team shooting activity in which participants remove opponents from the game by striking them with spherical dye-filled gelatin capsules known as paintballs, which burst on contact.

Paintball is entertaining. There are many things in life that are rewarding, but when they are also enjoyable, they become a must-do activity. Paintball is a lot of fun to play, and it's that sense of fun that keeps me coming back.

Inline skating is a multi-disciplinary sport that encompasses a variety of activities performed on inline skates. Depending on the style of practice, inline skates typically have two to five polyurethane wheels arranged in a single line by a metal or plastic frame on the underside of a boot. In-line skates are faster and more maneuverable than traditional (or "quad") roller skates. Inline skates can be modified to varying degrees to accommodate niche disciplines based on this basic design principle.

Because of the popular brand of inline skates, Rollerblade, inline skating is commonly referred to by the proprietary eponym "rollerblading," or simply "blading."

Conclusion

Extreme sports are most of four types. Nowadays, these sports are more popular compared to traditional sports. Here we discussed the top sports famous worldwide.
