Escalafón de los países más futboleros del mundo

Esta semana se dio a conocer un informe que ha causado bastante controversia por los inesperados resultados arrojados acerca de los países más futboleros en el mundo, en donde Emiratos Árabes Unidos encabeza el escalafón.

Estos datos fueron revelados por la prestigiosa revista británica The Espectator, de la misma casa editorial del reconocido Daily Telegraph.

El estudio fue realizado por Nielsen Sports, “principal proveedor de datos e informes en la creciente industria del deporte, ofreciendo la más fiable fuente de información independiente y holística además de la más completa visión de las tendencias y costumbres de los consumidores en todo el mundo”, como ellos mismos se describen.

Los sorpresivos resultados apuntan a que Emiratos Árabes Unidos y Tailandia son los países en donde al mayor porcentaje de su población le interesa el fútbol.

Entre los 10 primeros lugares del listado se encuentran tres países latinoamericanos: Chile (3), México (6) y Brasil (9).

Llama la atención que en los 16 primeros lugares, que fueron publicados, no aparece Colombia, ni otro país con una gran tradición futbolera como Argentina.
